This week has been a whirlwind of new fun and excitement for Mr. Brooks. He is almost 5 weeks old and getting bigger every day. On Monday of this week Brooks weighed a whopping 11.2 lbs! Can you believe how big he is getting??? A friend of mine has a baby boy that is two weeks older than
Brooks and both babies weigh the exact same! Yikes! Well at least we know that Brooks is a good eater and that he is definitely getting “enough”!We had a great time this past week. Brooks got to finally meet his Aunt Lyn on Thursday night. He was such a good boy but that means that he slept through most of their visit! Hopefully he will be more awake tonight when we all get to hang out again!
Friday night was Brooks’ first time going out for sushi. We met Aunt Becky and Uncle Troy out at Bento and he was such a great baby the entire time! His Aunt Becca even gave him his "bottle"!
This weekend was a fun one too for Brooks. On Sunday after church we drove over to Celebration and took Brooks to the Pumpkin Patch downtown. We took lots and lots of pictures…poor little guy! Everyone loved him and thought he was the cutes lil’ pumpkin there! After that we all went over to Epcot Center for the Food and Wine Festival. It was great to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we were having. Brooks really enjoyed riding around the world in his stroller (and in his PG’s arms…I keep telling her that she is spoiling him rotten!) We got a ton of cute pictures there too!
Everyday I feel like we are learning new things about our little boy. His “schedule” is getting much better these days and it actually is a good one for mommy and daddy too. On Friday night he actually slept through the night for the very first time!!!! YIPPY!!!! He’s not done it since but
the five straight hours of sleep where marvelous! Most nights he will eat about 11:00-11:30 and then he will not be up again until 4ish. His next feeding is around 7:00-7:30 and so to me that feels like I am only getting up once during the middle of the night…not too bad for a five week old breastfeed baby! Brooks does have a “fussy” time every day around 4-8pm. It is tough because he is so out of sorts and will not nap even though he is exhausted. It makes for a miserable dinner time for all of us but hopefully this too will pass. We are working through it and every day we discover new ways of consoling him…poor little man!
This weekend will be Brooks’ first road trip. My mom and I are driving up to Perry for a shower that my sister-in-laws are throwing for us on Sunday. We leave tomorrow and will come home on Sunday after the shower. We are looking forward to seeing all the family and hanging out for a fun filled weekend. He will even get to meet Heather and Kyla for the first time…he can’t wait! I just hope that Brooks will be content on the ride up there…it is a long drive but hopefully between my mom and me we will be able to make it work. If all else fails we will stop and take a little break! I hope to have a lot more pictures to post of this weekend next week!

AHRRR!!!! Brooks the Pirate! Poor baby is such a trooper for all the crazy prictures that Mommy likes to take!
