Happy birthday Brooksie-boy! I can hardly believe that you are now a three year old!!! Where has the time gone? Here is a picture of you last year at this time...my how you have grown up! You are no longer a toddler but an official big boy!
| Look at those curls...so much has changed in one short year! |
We started Brooks' birthday "week" off with a bang! He's been asking for for months now "when is it going to MY birthday?" I kept telling him September 19th and so he was good with knowing the date but my goodness the actual day couldn't get here soon enough! He was so excited when I told him that Uncle Troy and Aunt Becky were coming over to celebrate his birthday early! So the Friday before his actual birthday, they came over for the day to hang with B and to give him his VERY special birthday gift! Drum roll please.........Brooks got his one birthday wish.........a blue skateboard!!!! Yes that is right...a skateboard! He is obsessed! I have NO idea where this obsession came from but that is all that he has talked about for months! He was so excited when he unwrapped his gift and wanted to put it together and ride it right away! Good thing we had gone to Vans Skatepark the day before and purchased all the proper safety equipment! Check out our little boarder!!! Watch out Florida Hospital...here we come!!!! (I REALLY HOPE NOT!!!!!)
| All geared up and ready to go! |
| "Helping" Uncle Troy put together his skateboard! |
| With the added handle...let's hope it helps in the safety department! |
| Campbell had to get in on the fun too! I can't keep him away from that silly board! |
So the next day was party day! This year we hosted Brooks' birthday party at the Winter Park splash pad. It was a Pirate theme (Brooks' choice!) and we had oh so much fun! It was a beautiful day and the weather was actually not too terribly hot! We kept it small and the kids had a blast! So here is the p'arrrrrr'ty in pictures!
| The Wollitz crew! |
| A simple set up...cake, balloons, sno-cones, eye patches for the kids and one AWESOME pirate party hat for Brooks! |
| Publix did an amazing job on the cake...and it was delicious as usual! |
| And the pirate cookie was a nice touch...thank Ny and Ella! |
| Pirate eye patches for the kids...in a treasure chest of course! |
| Brooks and Ella checking out that yummy cake...I'm pretty sure there was some icing tasting going on too! |
| Arrrrr! Brooks the pirate!!! Amazing hat! A special birthday gift from Ella...all the way from Brazil! |
| The birthday pirate and the pirate princess! |
| Baby brothers even got in on the pirate fun! |
| Andrew showed up in full pirate gear too! So festive! |
| GJ helped us celebrate...she was the official sno-cone counter! She's pretty sure she counted Brooks eating at least 11 sno-cones! Can you say "sugar high???" |
| Fun times! |
| Blowing out the birthday candles! |
| All the kidos waiting patiently for cake! |
| Watch out! Ella is armed and dangerous! |
| The boys...being boys! |
| Look at these cute kids! |
| Daddy and the birthday boy! |
Later on that day, after the party, we came home to another huge surprise! GJ, Hank, Uncle Rick, Aunt Lyn and Uncle Tom all went in together and bought Brooks a John Deere Gator! He was SO surprised and SO excited about being able to drive it himself! Thanks so much for such a fun gift guys! It's the gift that keep on giving...all the kids want to play at our house now! :)
| Seeing the Gator for the first time...red bow and all! |
| B didn't miss a beat...he's already a driving pro! |
| He has the whole thing down pat...forward, backwards, three-point-turns!!! |
| Checking out some more birthday gifts after a much needed nap! |
| Loving his new pirate dress up gear! Now he can be a pirate every day! |
| Taking his friends for a ride...well maybe they are taking him for a ride! |
Well, we couldn't stop there with all the birthday fun...Monday was his actual birthday and since his PopPop couldn't make it down for the party he came down Sunday night and was here on his actual birthday to spend the day with him! He was very excited! It was a school day so I dropped him off (with no tears!) and cupcake to share with his class! He was so excited, especially when they sang happy birthday to him during chapel! I also had to work but I made it home early so that we ALL could load up and go to Bass Pro Shop (again, his request!) We had a special time together and even had time to stop by Vans to watch the kids skate...he was in heaven...like a kid in a candy store! Afterwards we came home to cookout an amazing steak dinner for our little guy (AGAIN, his request!!!) He's a man whole knows what he likes and what he wants!
| Happy (Actual) Birthday Brooks! |
| PG, PopPop and B...patiently awaiting dinner to hit the table! |
| Enjoying his steak! YUM!!!! "it's my favorite mama!" |
| Singing happy birthday...three candles in a red velvet cupcake...this kid has good taste! |
| Diving in! |
| Half way through his cupcake...I think the sugar might be kicking in! |
| Afterwards we had to work off some of that sugar before bedtime...what better way than a dress-up pirate duel!!! |
| One crazy pirate family! Our littlest buccaneer was all tuckered out in his bed! |
| Even PG got in on the action!!! Brooks was in heaven!!! |
So as you can see Brooks had a wonderful third birthday. We are excited to see what year three has in store for us. Two was too much fun...three can only get better! Love you Brooksie-boy!
