Brooks and Batia Baby CC - Week 26 & 27

I am now 27 weeks pregnant and that means I only have 11 more weeks until we finally get to meet Baby CC! It's so amazing that in less than 3 months we will be a family of 4! I am really getting excited and Brooks and I talk more and more about Baby CC everyday. Today our conversation included where Baby CC would sleep and how babies drink only milk...not turkey and cheese!

The network of nerves in Baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He/she may now be able to hear our voices as you chat with each other...including Brooks! He/she is inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of the lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when CC is born and takes that first gulp of air. And the baby is continuing to put on baby fat. This week, Baby CC weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with the legs extended.

She/he's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his/her eyes, and perhaps even sucking its fingers. With more brain tissue developing, our baby's brain is very active now. While the lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she/he were to be born now. But we are still on track for a December birthday! We have our official due date of December the 3rd so mark your calendars! We had a great doctor's visit this past week...Baby CC had a nice strong heartbeat in the 130's and he/she kept kicking the heart rate monitor! It was pretty funny to hear the big thump of a swift kick! Everything is still looking great for this pregnancy...I've not gained too much weight yet so that is a good thing too! My belly is definitely getting bigger but that just means that Baby CC is getting bigger so I am ok with that. I'm still able to exercise everyday and I'm running at least two days a week. It's definitely getting harder with my big ol belly but I plan on running until I physically can't go any more!

Brooks and I remain busy with weekly playdates, storytimes, and just hanging out at home! We love to stay in and have a pj day at least once a week! Ahhh...the good life of a stay at home mom and kid! Here are some recent pics of the fun we've been having!
Here are Andrew, Ella and Brooks playing at the park...man these kids are growing up fast! I can remember when we used to have to hold then so that they wouldn't fall of this teeter-totter!

We had a fun weekend pizza party over at the Wollitz home...here are the two prego girls enjoying a beer...an O'Douls that is...thanks to Rachel for thinking of us!

Who knew that the daddies could drag out SO many toys...they can tear up a room in no time flat! :)

Brooks is fast approaching TWO so we thought it would be a good idea to move him from his crib to a big boy bed! We started by going to IKEA and purchasing a new bed frame...one that is super low to the ground and that could double as a guest bed when we have company. After some major shopping, we found the perfect bed...and then Mark had to put it together! Here are a few pics of Mark and Brooks putting together the new bed!

I can't tell who is helping who! B was such a good helper that day! I'm not sure that Mark could have done it by himself...there must have been 200 screws and wooden pegs! Good thing Brooks brought his own hammer!

Ahhhh....time to relax after all that hard work! The big boy bed looks great and Brooks LOVES it! He calls it his "new bed" and was super excited to play on it! Let's just hope sleeping comes just as easy!

I couldn't find B the other afternoon and finally found him on his new bed eating his snack! I'm tell ing you...it's his new favorite place!

So the transition to the big bed wasn't as hard as I thought as it would be...we ended up having to buy bedrails so that Brooks couldn't roll out! We tried sleeping him the first night without the rails and he ended up falling out of bed after about an hour. We felt like terrible parents but he wasn't to phased by the whole thing. We ran in his room when we heard him fall and he was just standing there next to his bed saying "Brooksie fell down..." and then this is the funny part...he grabbed his blanket and pillow and ran into the nursery repeating "Brooksie sleep in crib please!" It was so funny but sort of sad at the same time...of course we let him sleep in the crib until we could get the bedrails! He's not had an issue since and naps and sleeps all night like a champ! Like I said...it was WAY easier than we anticipated!

We had the opportunity to take Brooks to his very first college football game this year! It was SO much fun...it was a UCF game and as an added bonus we got to see our friends the Fulmers who were in town for the Labor Day weekend...so much fun to see how big the boys are getting...it's been about six months since we got the boys together and man oh man have things changed since March!

Brooks and Ella heading to check out the tailgate...what kinds of yummy treats will they have for us today?

Heading into the game!

Brooks was cheering on the Knights onto a big victory against South Dakota!

Touchdown!!!!!

We've been enjoying the slight change in weather...well there's been a little less humidity and it feels wonderful!!! We decided to hang out at the park on Labor Day...it was still hot but we had fun!

Brooks has a slight obsession with Ny's water bottle...no matter where we are he will find that sucker and he HAS to have a drink...thank goodness Ny is a patient mommy and is willing to share!

Brooks swinging like a monkey on the jungle gym!

Here are the best buds showing off their balance skills!

Mommy and daddy even got in on the fun...Mark kept giving me a hard time by telling me that we were perfectly balanced on the see-saw...not funny and SO not true!!!!

And here are the boys washing the cars later on that afternoon...and in the middle of the beautiful sunny afternoon it started  pouring down rain! Go figure! So the boys washed the car in the rain! :)

So next week Brooks turns the big # 2!!!! We are planning a really fun party and can't wait to help B celebrate his special day! Our baby boy is growing up SO fast!
