In other news: Charlotte-Campbell is stretching out. From head to bottom, the baby measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
The baby's body is growing faster than the head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, the arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of the body. C-C is starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his/her body. The baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though I can't feel his/her tiny punches and kicks yet, our little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
Here are the latest belly shots...I definitely can see and feel a difference! And so can Brooks...he is all about rubbing the Budha these days! :)
I continue to feel great...it is blazing hot here in Florida but even that is not affecting me yet! I really have nothing to complain about! My energy is officially back and I actually don't feel like I need a nap everyday! It is great to have the energy and motivation to get up and go running or workout in the mornings instead of just wanting to stay in my bed for as long as Brooks would let me!
We've had a ton of fun action going on in the neighborhood this week for Brooks to enjoy! Our next door neighbors had some trees taken down on their property and you would have thought that Brooks had died and gone to heaven when the big trucks pulled up in front of our house with all those loud chainsaws and chippers! He couldn't get enough! We sat outside for the better part of the morning while they worked away...Brooks had to even gear up for the special occasion...safety goggles and all!
Here are the ones of him outside...he would not let his chainsaw out of his sight! The tree guys got a big kick out him!
Last Thursday we were invited over to Brooks' friend Ryan's house for a sprinkler playdate! We had a great time visiting with all of our friends...Ella was even there so we know that Brooks was happy! :) We got to hang out with Ryan, Katelyn and Brady, Gracyn, and Carson and all of their moms! Brooks loved all the pools but he especially the dump truck that he pushed ALL over the backyard!
After a fun filled week we decided to take it easy and have a super relaxing weekend! On Saturday morning we had a quiet morning and then Brooks and daddy decided they had had enough relaxing for one day and went outside to wash the cars! Brooks is such a great helper...he was to do EVERYTHING that Mark does and he is such a big boy and actually does help! Here are some cute pics of the two of them working hard!
So after all that hard work we decided to take a break and go to the splash pad that Brooks LOVES! Since it was a Saturday the place was packed but that was ok with us...Brooks had a great time cooling off in the fountains. Here is a pretty funny before and after shot! He got soaked!!!
After all that playing B worked up quite and appetite! I packed all sorts of yummy and healthy snacks like apple slices, string cheese and yogurt but when a mom came by with a tray of cupcakes all that healthy stuff was forgotten! But that was ok...he couldn't get enough of that chocolate icing!
Here I am offering all the healthy stuff and here he is stuffing his face with cupcake! :)
We are so blessed to have such a sweet little boy...he is such an amazing gift! We are can't wait to meet baby # 2 and to add to our already amazing family. Life doesn't get much better than this...
